About The Author

Michael McEachern, born in Boston, MA, and raised in Fayetteville, NC, developed a passion for martial arts at the age of ten, sparked by watching a karate movie with his mother. His early training began with a neighbor, "Kung Fu," and continued under Police Lieutenant Alfons Tanzillo, where he earned blue belts in Jiu Jitsu and Judo.

While serving in the U.S. Army, McEachern’s martial arts journey flourished. He earned his black belt under Sensei James McMurray and competed in martial arts tournaments, winning over 100 trophies and 3 Grand Championships. His training continued with Master David Baize, where he achieved a 3rd-degree black belt in Kama Bushi Kai.

McEachern’s competitive career saw him become a European and Bavarian Kickboxing Champion, and in 1997, he won the WKA World Championship. He also taught hand-to-hand combat to U.S. Special Forces teams and applied his skills in real-world situations while working as a bouncer in Munich.

With decades of experience, McEachern’s teachings emphasize the balance between discipline, practical application, and the wisdom gained from a lifetime of martial arts training and competition.
